About the Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Store Manager to lead our store into its next chapter of growth. This is a high\-impact leadership role for a commercially minded people manager who is passionate about fresh food, customer experience, and building high\-performing teams.

As Store Manager, you will be the driving force behind the store’s success—shaping culture, delivering outstanding customer service, and achieving ambitious commercial targets. You’ll take full ownership of operations, people development, and performance, while living and breathing the values of the SuperValu brand.

Your Mission

Your purpose is simple but powerful:
To deliver an outstanding store experience every day—through exceptional people leadership, operational excellence, and a relentless focus on customers and fresh local food.

You will lead by example, inspire your team, and ensure the store consistently exceeds customer expectations while achieving key sales and profitability targets.

What You’ll Do:

Customer Experience \& Brand Leadership

  • Champion a world\-class customer experience, ensuring every customer feels welcomed, valued, and cared for.

  • Embed I\-CARE Service Excellence behaviours across the team and achieve top mystery shop results.

  • Live and promote SuperValu’s brand values: Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and Imaginative.
People Leadership \& Culture
  • Build, coach and inspire a high\-performing leadership team, fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful culture.

  • Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and develop tailored training plans to grow talent.

  • Lead management meetings, communicate results, and celebrate success with your team.

  • Ensure compliance with policies, timekeeping, attendance, rostering, and employee records.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee day\-to\-day store operations, ensuring smooth workflows, strong delegation, and consistent standards.

  • Maintain the highest standards in merchandising, planograms, presentation, and stock control.

  • Drive compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, Health \& Safety, alcohol licensing, and employment legislation.

  • Deliver Retail Excellence standards and achieve Emerald status in EIQA.
Commercial Performance
  • Set, monitor, and deliver ambitious KPIs across sales, gross profit, net margin, waste, and costs.

  • Analyse reports and performance data to drive commercial decisions and operational efficiencies.

  • Control stocktaking, overheads, and budgets, ensuring sustainable profitability.

  • Lead initiatives such as Real Rewards participation and new business innovations.
Community \& Innovation
  • Build strong relationships with your team, customers, suppliers, and the local community.

  • Embrace new initiatives, technologies, and ways of working to keep the store at the forefront of retail excellence.

  • Represent the store at conferences, seminars, and brand events as required.
What You Bring
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior retail management role (Assistant Manager or Store Manager).

  • Proven ability to lead, inspire and develop teams in a fast\-paced environment.

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience delivering KPIs and targets.

  • Excellent communication, delegation, and people management skills.

  • Confidence working with reports, data, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

  • A passion for grocery retail, fresh food, and customer service excellence.

  • Highly driven, organised, and detail\-focused with a strong work ethic.
