Role Overview

The Stock Pricing \& Vehicle Controller is responsible for managing vehicle inventory, ensuring accurate stock records, controlling vehicle movements, and setting competitive retail pricing to maximise profitability and stock turn. The role combines inventory management, market analysis, and operational control to ensure vehicles are prepared, priced, and marketed effectively.

Key Responsibilities Vehicle Stock Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all vehicle stock within the dealership management system.

  • Monitor vehicle arrivals, disposals, transfers, and vehicle status updates.

  • Ensure all stock vehicles are correctly taxed, registered, and documented.

  • Coordinate vehicle preparation processes, including valeting, servicing, repairs, and photography.

  • Track vehicle ageing and identify slow\-moving stock for management review.

  • Conduct regular stock audits and investigate discrepancies.
Vehicle Pricing
  • Research market values using industry pricing tools and competitor analysis.

  • Set and maintain competitive retail pricing across all stock vehicles.

  • Review pricing regularly based on market trends, stock age, demand, and profitability targets.

  • Recommend price adjustments to maximise stock turn while protecting margins.

  • Produce pricing and stock performance reports for management.
Stock Control \& Administration
  • Ensure vehicle files are complete and compliant with legal and company requirements.

  • Manage vehicle procurement records and costing information.

  • Verify vehicle purchase invoices and preparation costs.

  • Maintain accurate vehicle profit calculations and stock valuations.

  • Liaise with sales, purchasing, service, and accounts departments to ensure smooth stock flow.
Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor key stock KPIs including:

  • Stock turn

  • Average days in stock

  • Gross profit per unit

  • Preparation costs

  • Pricing competitiveness

  • Produce weekly and monthly management reports.

  • Support forecasting and inventory planning activities.
Skills \& ExperienceEssential
  • Previous experience within a motor dealership, automotive retail, or vehicle inventory environment.

  • Strong understanding of used vehicle pricing and market trends.

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

  • Experience using dealer management systems (DMS).

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
Desirable
  • Experience with pricing platforms

  • Knowledge of vehicle finance and profit calculation.

  • Understanding of automotive compliance and vehicle documentation processes.

Salary Range

€32,000 – €36,000 per annum depending on experience
