Stock Assistant

Position Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Stock Assistant to join our Partner Store based in Regent Street. As Stock Assistant, you will support the efficient operation of the company's warehouse and retail stores by ensuring timely, accurate, and safe movement of stock between locations. The role is critical to maintaining stock availability, operational efficiency, and high retail standards across all sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Warehouse \& Store Operations

• Receive, check, scan and accurately book in stock deliveries using the company's stock management system (Sitoo).


• Pick, pack and prepare stock safely and efficiently, ensuring correct rotation and clear labelling.


• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and health \& safety within the locations.


• Assist with regular stock counts and support stocktakes, investigations, and reconciliations.


• Assist with returns of faulty or incorrectly delivered stock.

Deliveries

• Load and unload vehicles carefully, ensuring stock is secured and protected in transit.


• Complete deliveries and collections accurately and on time, following agreed schedules.


• Ensure compliance with all road traffic laws, company driving policies, and insurance requirements.

Health, Safety \& Compliance

• Follow all Health \& Safety policies.


• Use appropriate lifting techniques and equipment to minimise risk of injury.


• Report accidents, near misses, or unsafe practices in line with company procedures.


• Comply with all company policies, including data protection, loss prevention, and stock security.

General Duties

• Undertake any other duties reasonably requested to support the effective running of the business.


• Be flexible in approach to work, including supporting different sites and adapting to operational priorities.

Skills and Experience:

Essential

• Experience in a warehouse, stockroom or logistics role.


• Comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks.


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock.


• Good time management and reliability.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• Experience in retail warehousing or fashion/lifestyle retail.


• Familiarity with stock management or EPOS systems.

Additional Information:

• This is a full\-time role, typically working 40 hours per week.


• Full flexibility required, including early starts, occasional late finishes, weekends, or peak trading periods as needed by the business.


• This role involves travel between sites when required (Duke Street, Battersea Warehouse)


• Please note that the successful applicants will be employed directly by "The Highlands, Regent Street LTD" in their store which trades as Barbour located on Regent Street and Duke Street. J Barbour \& Sons Limited will not be the employer of the successful applicant.
