We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated physiotherapist to fill a band 7 post within the cardiorespiratory physiotherapy team at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced band 6 physiotherapist or an existing band 7 therapist, with a specialist interest in cystic fibrosis and long\-term ventilation to join our dynamic, forward thinking, and friendly team. The team consists of a band 8 team lead physiotherapist, eight band 7’s, a static band 6’s and two general rotational band 6 physiotherapists, with a band 4 assistant.

This post provides a highly specialised respiratory physiotherapy service to children with

cystic fibrosis and those requiring long\-term ventilation. Alongside neurodevelopmental input to long\-term ventilated patients. Knowledge of airway clearance techniques, mechanical insufflation/exsufflation and non\-invasive ventilation is essential, together with experience of educating and training family/care givers.

Main duties of the job

To provide highly specialist respiratory physiotherapy assessment and treatment to general respiratory patients, cystic fibrosis patients, and long\-term ventilated patients, on inpatient wards, clinics and the transitional care unit.
To lead the respiratory physiotherapy service on the transitional care unit.
To provide neurodevelopmental input to long\-term ventilated patients on the

transitional care unit.
To take an active role in discharge planning and facilitation for complex, long\-term ventilated patients.
To work as part of the cardiorespiratory physiotherapy team, providing cross cover and support to other areas as required.
