Purpose of the Role

The Team Lead, is responsible for leading the Client Static Data team, ensuring the accurate, timely and controlled maintenance of client, adviser and account data across all systems. The role is accountable for delivering high-quality service, maintaining strong risk and control standards, supporting regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement.

This role plays a critical part in protecting data integrity, supporting operational efficiency and ensuring an excellent experience for clients, advisers and internal stakeholders throughout the client lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

· Lead, motivate and develop the Client Static Data team.

· Set clear objectives and performance expectations.

· Conduct regular one-to-ones, coaching sessions and performance reviews.

· Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.

· Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

· Ensure appropriate resource planning and workload management.

Operational Oversight

· Oversee daily workflow management and prioritisation of tasks.

· Ensure all client static data updates are processed accurately and within agreed SLAs.

· Act as an escalation point for complex cases and operational issues.

· Monitor team productivity, quality and service delivery.

· Ensure effective management of queues and backlogs.

Risk, Control & Governance

· Maintain robust operational controls to protect client and business data.

· Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, GDPR and internal policies.

· Review operational errors and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

· Support internal and external audits.

· Escalate material risks and control issues appropriately.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

· Previous experience leading or supervising teams within financial services operations.

· Strong experience in Client Onboarding, Client Static Data or Account Administration functions.

· Thorough understanding of the onboarding lifecycle for both Personal and Non-Personal clients, including Trusts, Companies, Partnerships, Pension Schemes and other regulated entity structures.

· Strong working knowledge of KYC, AML, CDD and Enhanced Due Diligence requirements.

· Experience of reviewing and validating complex client structures and supporting documentation.

· Experience managing operational workflows and service level targets.

· Experience handling complex client data and account maintenance activities.

· Strong understanding of risk, governance and regulatory requirements within a regulated financial services environment.

· Demonstrable experience managing stakeholder relationships and operational escalations.

Desirable

· Experience within wealth management, platform administration, pensions or investment operations.

· Knowledge of FCA regulations, consumer duty requirements and industry best practice.

· Experience implementing process improvements and operational change initiatives.

· Experience using workflow management systems and operational reporting tools.

· Experience supporting platform migrations, account conversions or regulatory change projects.

Qualifications

Essential

· GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.

· Evidence of ongoing professional development within financial services operations.

Desirable

· Professional financial services qualification (e.g. CISI Investment Operations Certificate, IOC or equivalent).

· AML, Financial Crime or Compliance-related qualification.
