An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Adult Nurse to join our dedicated Stroke Team at Hereford County Hospital, based on Wye Ward.

Wye Ward is a 26\-bedded specialist stroke unit, comprising a 6\-bedded Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU), which provides care during the initial phase following a stroke, and 20 acute and rehabilitation stroke beds, where patients receive ongoing specialist nursing care and rehabilitation during this important stage of their recovery.

As a Registered Adult Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting individuals and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high\-quality and effective patient care that is responsive to the needs of our patients and their families. You will work closely with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to promote holistic care, enhance patient outcomes and contribute to the continued development of the service.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who is committed to providing compassionate, person\-centred care and who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You should be able to demonstrate good communication skills, a commitment to professional development and a willingness to embrace and facilitate change.

Band 4 Nursing associate can be considered .

Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and hold a valid NMC PIN.

To work as the registered nurse in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care.

  • Act on any concerns to the raised, relating to standards of cleanliness, hazards and patient safety within the clinical area.

  • To ensure the nursing and medical team are regularly updated on patients’ condition and progress.

  • To ensure the equipment is clean and in good working order and that damaged or faulty equipment is reported correctly. that the team

  • To ensure the environment is clean and tidy.

  • To participate with the induction of staff new to the clinical area.

  • To minimize hazards in the working area and report any identifiable hazards to the ward sister. To adhere to all safe systems of work applicable to the work area.

  • To demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing, to ensure dissemination of information.

  • To maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • To promote awareness of child protection issues referring to area child protection policy and Trust policy. Attend child protection training in accordance with the policy.

  • To promote awareness of adult protection issues referring to the Herefordshire Multi\-Agency Policy and Procedures for The Protection of Vulnerable Adults from Abuse. Attend adult protection training sessions in accordance with the policies and procedures.
