Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 37\.5 per week (Full\-Time)

Role Summary:

The Staff Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of nursing care practiced in the relevant care setting. The Staff Nurse will provide holistic, person centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for service users.

The appointed candidate must practice within the Codes of Practice, Rules and Guidelines set out by the Nursing and Midwifery board of Ireland (NMBI) and comply with the policies and procedures of Blackrock Clinic.

Qualifications/ Essential Criteria

  • Registered in the general division of NMBI

  • Evidence of personal professional development

  • Must have at least 4\-year post registration experience in an acute hospital as a staff nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The primary role of the Staff Nurse will be to participate in the provision pre, peri and post procedure nursing services and management of Patient Care in the Unit.

  • Responsible for the management, care and treatment of elective patients, to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided within the Unit.

  • Develop and document a care plan based on patient needs and best practice.

  • Provide safe, comprehensive nursing

  • Provide care with minimal supervision in a timely accurate and safe manner.

  • Participate in quality assurance, Infection Prevention and Control.

  • Promoting the safety, health, welfare and social wellbeing of patients and respect the dignity and confidentiality of patients and their families;

  • Ensuring that records are protected and managed as per hospital policy and in accordance with relevant legislation

  • Working closely with colleagues across the hospital in order to provide a seamless service delivery to the patients

  • Communicate appropriately with colleagues and other members of the health care team.

  • Function within the limits of NMBI and hospital policies, procedures and standards.

  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other areas of the hospital as required.
