Job overview
Gloucester Ward is looking for enthusiastic, well\-motivated registered nurses with a strong commitment to providing excellent care to our patients and families, on a permanent full or part time basis. Gloucester specialises in acute respiratory care, with many other additional specialties being cared for on the ward. The successful candidate will be expected to work with our extensive multidisciplinary team whilst supporting patients through their journey from admission to discharge, providing them with the highest quality healthcare and patient experience. In terms of the variety of experience you will gain as a registered nurse, it will be challenging but highly rewarding and will certainly develop your clinical and discharge planning skills as well as offering some great leadership opportunities. Whether you are a newly qualified or an experienced nurse \- this is a chance to develop your skills as part of a highly capable team where you're guaranteed opportunities to learn how to care for patients requiring a variety of nursing interventions. Training guidance will be given upon successful interviews, and full support from our senior nurses in the ward environment.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse (Staff Nurse) you are required: To provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, whilst maintaining at all times their privacy and dignity To assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care To contribute to supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse To support the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in their own clinical To communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, their relatives/carers, nursing colleagues and members of the multi\-disciplinary team to ensure care is delivered in an accurate and efficient manner Good verbal and written communication skills Establish and maintain good communication with the Ward/Department administrative, housekeeping and domestic staff To be responsible for ensuring all patients and their relatives/carers are kept fully informed of patients' treatment/progress and discharge plans/after care. Undertake training around non invasive therapy and high flow oxygen therapy, as well as chest drains and other pleural procedures.
