Look no further than our Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our dynamic and supportive Paediatric Emergency Department team, based at Leeds General Infirmary. We are seeking passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated paediatric nurses with relevant experience who are keen to develop their skills within a fast\-paced emergency setting.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s Urgent Care Clinical Service Unit (CSU) operates across St James’ Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary, with a designated Children’s Hospital. Our Paediatric Emergency Department is part of the Urgent Care CSU and sits within the regional major trauma centre for both adults and children. We see approximately 44,000 children each year, providing a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
Our department prides itself on having a welcoming, open, and friendly culture, with a strong focus on professional development, leadership, and skill expansion. You will demonstrate excellent teamwork, sound clinical knowledge, and a strong desire to learn and implement new skills. Above all, you will place the child and family at the centre of everything you do.
We work closely with Leeds Children’s Hospital, liaising with bed managers and ward teams to ensure the best possible patient experience and care journey.
All new starters will have the opportunity to complete our Introduction to Professional Practice (IPP) induction programme, followed by a 12\-month preceptorship framework, which includes protected education sessions and support forums to help you succeed in your role.
This post covers a 24\-hour service, including day shifts, late shifts, twilights, and night shifts.
