About the role

Chatty Learning is looking for a warm, enthusiastic and reliable Speech \& Language Therapy Assistant to work two days per week within a primary school in Knowsley.

Each working day consists of:

  • approximately 5 hours based at the school, including direct work with children and liaison with school staff

  • 1 additional paid hour for preparation, resources, session notes and administration
There is flexibility over which two days are worked, although non\-consecutive days are preferred so that children's support can be spread across the school week.

Exact working days and times can be agreed with the successful candidate.

What you'll be doing

Your role will include:

  • Keeping clear and accurate session notes

  • Liaising with teachers, teaching assistants and other school staff

  • Feeding back to the supervising Speech \& Language Therapist

  • Helping children to develop their communication skills and confidence

  • Is warm, patient and encouraging with children

  • Is organised, reliable and able to manage their time effectively

  • Can follow programmes and guidance carefully

  • Is confident working independently once trained

  • Communicates well with school staff and other professionals

  • Is comfortable using a computer or tablet to access resources and record information
