To demonstrate sound theoretical knowledge of the speech

and language therapy process and skills necessary for the

management of a range of speech, language and

communication (SLC) difficulties.

To be responsible for the management of a caseload of

children with a variety of SLC difficulties, which may include

occasional complex cases; all cases will be overseen by a

senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT).

To participate in the management (assessment, treatment,

general management and discharge planning) of children

referred to the service.

To provide support, guidance and information to parents and

professionals regarding speech, language and communication

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a Paediatric Community Speech and Language Team . You will be based across Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth working for University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay. Geographically 60 minutes away from bigger cities such as Liverpool and Manchester and 30 minutes away from the Lake District.

The Team work in clinics, schools and in the child home to provide Speech and Language Therapy for children and Young People age 0\-19 years. Therapists are part of a Integrated Team of Nurses and Therapists who work together to improve the outcomes for Children.

The Team have good support , regular clinical supervision and access to external training opportunities.

Anyone newly appointed to the Trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
