Summary

We are looking for a Senior IT Developer to join our IT development team in Lancaster City Centre.

This role is focused on maintaining, supporting, and improving a complex business\-critical system built across a mixed technology stack. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, resolving issues, and supporting ongoing development as we transition to newer platforms.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a senior developer who will:

• Maintain and support a legacy system built using Classic ASP, C\#, and SQL Server


• Diagnose and resolve issues in a live production environment


• Develop and maintain integrations with third\-party systems (APIs / Webhooks)


• Support ongoing improvements and enhancements across the system


• Work across both front\-end and back\-end codebases where needed


• Assist with documentation and knowledge sharing


• Support transition towards modern platforms where appropriate

• 5\+ years development experience


• Strong SQL Server knowledge (queries, performance, debugging)


• Strong C\# programming skills


• Experience working with Classic ASP / legacy web technologies


• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills


• Experience working with APIs and integrations


• Strong understanding of how systems interact across a full stack environment


• Experience using source control tools (Git)


• Experience working in Visual Studio or similar environments

• Experience with ASP.NET (Web Forms / MVC / Razor)


• Experience with JavaScript / HTML / CSS


• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate)


• Experience with Azure (Functions, integrations)


• Experience with modern front\-end frameworks (Angular / React)


• Understanding of system architecture and design patterns

• Someone experienced in working with complex legacy systems


• Strong ownership mentality for system stability


• Ability to quickly understand and navigate unfamiliar codebases


• Pragmatic approach to problem solving and delivery


• Someone who can balance maintenance with improvement

Salary

£45,000\.00 \- £65,000\.00 Per Annum D.O.E

Hours of work

Monday \- Friday 9\.00am \- 5\.00pm
