Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced People Specialist on a12 month fixed term contract to help strengthen and stabilise HR delivery during a period of organisational change.

This is a hands\-on role for someone who enjoys balancing operational delivery, manager support and continuous improvement. You will own key employee lifecycle processes, provide first\-line HR advice, manage routine employee relations cases, improve HR processes and systems, and support managers to build confidence and capability.

Working as part of a small, collaborative team reporting to the HR Business Partnering \& Operations Manager,you will help to ensure that HR services remain practical, responsive and fit for the future as NEBOSH develops its longer\-term People operating model.

What you will be doing

  • Owning onboarding, induction, probation, employee changes and offboarding processes, ensuring activity is accurate, timely, consistent and well documented.

  • Partnering with the Talent Acquisition Lead to ensure an effective handover from recruitment to employment.

  • Providing practical first\-line HR advice to managers on routine employee relations matters, including performance, attendance, conduct and probation.

  • Coaching managers on policy application and good people management practice, and escalating complex or high\-risk matters appropriately.

  • Producing regular HR reports and management information to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.

  • Simplifying and improving HR systems, processes, templates, guidance and self\-service tools while maintaining legal, policy and governance requirements.

  • Providing day\-to\-day guidance to the HR Officer and helping to build quality, consistency and capability across the team.

  • Working collaboratively across HR, Talent Acquisition and Learning and Development to support People projects, change activity and continuous improvement.
About you

Our ideal candidate will bring the following experience and approach:

  • Experience in an HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor, People Advisor, HR Generalist or similar role.

  • Experience providing practical HR advice and support to managers across the employee lifecycle.

  • Experience handling routine employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, absence and probation.

  • Experience owning or coordinating onboarding, employee changes and other employee lifecycle processes.

  • Experience improving HR processes, systems or ways of working.

  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR good practice.

  • Strong communication, relationship\-building and influencing skills.

  • Ability to prioritise effectively, work with appropriate autonomy and exercise sound judgement.

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Confidence using HR systems, Microsoft 365 and digital tools, with the ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
It would also be helpful if you have
  • Experience supporting organisational change or business improvement initiatives.

  • Experience coaching or supporting junior HR colleagues.

  • Experience in a regulated, education, charity, membership or professional services environment.

  • Experience using technology, automation or AI\-enabled tools to improve HR delivery.
Salary

£33,000 to £37,000 per annum.
