Specialist Engineer

Location: Dublin Airport

Employment: Full time, permanent role

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, rotating between Monday to Sunday, 06:00 \- 18:00

Additional Benefits: €250 Monthly Shift Allowance \+ €18 Daily On\-Call Payment While on Duty

As an E\-Gate Specialist Engineer at Dublin Airport, you'll support mission\-critical border control technology used by thousands of passengers every day. Working at the forefront of airport operations, you'll gain hands\-on experience with advanced biometric, hardware, software, and electrical systems while developing your career in a fast\-paced, high\-profile environment where your expertise directly impacts the passenger journey.

What You'll Do

  • Proactive maintenance Activity \& Visual checks: Carry out regular "floor\-walking" and pro\-active line of sight checks to identify and resolve any issues associated with the specialist equipment, ensure document validation equipment is at cleaned and free from debris replacing worn parts as necessary on a daily basis, also discussing with the officers on a daily basis to ensure they do not have any issues.

  • Respond to customer incidents assigned by the Global Service Desk and successfully resolve within agreed SLAs. The calls received by global service desk will be logged in ServiceNow ticket management tool, this will notify the engineer through their mobile phone and will be acknowledged by the engineer who will then attend immediately to the location to resolve.

  • Fault Diagnosis Carry out full diagnosis of hardware software and electrical problems using specialist diagnostic tools as per training procedures and documentation provided

  • Updating open incident: Engineer will continue to update the open ticket by adding notes via the phone app and / or taking calls from service desk team members and providing status updates

  • Escalate for additional support using the escalation procedure for assistance across local and global expert teams

  • Spares management is required to ensure accuracy on volumes, locations and availability of parts onsite for speedy repair and incident resolution.

  • Excellent communicator: Maintain a high level of communication both verbal and written with customer and colleagues in particular when an issue is being worked to ensure awareness is clear on expected resolution time and planned next steps to resolve.
What You'll Bring
  • 3\-5 years' experience required in a mechanical operations / IT field engineer role for role holder to perform fully and effectively in the job

  • Good knowledge and experience in IT hardware, Microsoft Desktop software \& network fundamentals,

  • Strong diagnostics and trouble shooting skills

  • Self\-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt to any new change or situation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
