Specialist Dyslexia Tutor (Primary/Lower Secondary) – W11 London / Online

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Specialist Dyslexia Tutor to support a bright, academically able student with dyslexia and working memory challenges.

The student will be joining the mainstream learning pathway at her new school and is looking for ongoing specialist support to consolidate and build upon the progress she has made through an intensive structured literacy programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tutor who enjoys working with "twice exceptional" learners and is passionate about helping students develop confidence, independence, and effective learning strategies.

The Role

You will provide tailored one\-to\-one support focused on:

  • Extended writing skills, including planning frameworks and structured approaches to longer written tasks

  • Developing strategies to organise ideas before writing begins

  • Morphological instruction, vocabulary development, and spelling

  • Embedding working memory strategies within academic work

  • Supporting the student to manage multi\-step tasks and engage with longer texts

  • Building independent learning skills and academic confidence
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a tutor who has:

  • A recognised dyslexia qualification

  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia and specific learning differences

  • Experience working with academically able ("twice exceptional") students in the Primary or Lower Secondary age range

  • Strong knowledge of literacy intervention, writing development, and executive functioning strategies

  • A warm, patient, and highly organised approach
Location
  • Ideally in\-person in W11, London

  • Online sessions will also be considered for the right candidate
Schedule

Starting September 2025

Two sessions per week, with availability including:

  • Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday afternoons from 4:00pm onwards

  • Wednesday sessions can begin from 3:00pm onwards

  • Ideally, one session would take place on Sundays at approximately 4:00pm
Pay: £50\.00\-£60\.00 per hour
