In this vital role, you will provide essential support within a Special Care Youth Residential setting, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment for young people in care.
Your responsibilities will be diverse and rewarding, focusing on the holistic well\-being of each individual. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing personalised Care and Placement Plans, promoting their rights, and encouraging their personal, educational, and social development. This includes everything from helping with school and appointments to engaging in play and managing household activities.

About The Role
As a Special Care Worker, no two days are the same. You'll be at the heart of the home, starting your day by supporting young people as they get ready for school or daily activities. Your role involves a blend of practical support, emotional guidance, and structured planning. You will engage in therapeutic activities, and manage household duties to create a warm, clean, and organised living space.

Accepted Qualifications:
A Level 7 qualification in Social Care or
Youth and Community work qualification
BA (Hons) Youth and Community Development
BA (Hons) Psychology
Addiction Studies (Level 7\)
BA (Hons) Counselling and Addiction Studies
Disability Diploma (Primary Care)
Degree in Social Science (minimum Level 7\)
Required Criteria
- Ability to implement and document care plans effectively.
- Strong knowledge of current child care legislation and professional standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for reporting and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, including report writing and record keeping.
- Desired Criteria
- Previous experience in a residential care setting.
- Formal training in therapeutic crisis intervention or similar de\-escalation techniques.
