Solar Photovoltaics Technical Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Solar Photovoltaics Technical Engineer to join our innovative renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting technical surveys, managing and supporting the installation team, and carrying out troubleshooting and remedial works on solar photovoltaic systems.

Your technical expertise will play a key role in delivering sustainable energy solutions, ensuring systems are installed and operating to the highest standards of performance and safety. Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments to evaluate suitability for solar PV installations, including structural and electrical considerations


• Assist in designing and optimising solar PV system layouts based on site conditions and client requirements


• Support installation teams by providing technical guidance on the use of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical components


• Perform quality checks during installation to ensure compliance with safety standards and technical specifications


• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on existing systems using electrical experience and mechanical knowledge


• Collaborate with operations manager to develop detailed technical reports and documentation


• Produce RAMS for each installation


• Maintain safety protocols during all phases of installation and maintenance activities

Requirements

• Strong mechanical knowledge related to solar electrical wiring and system components


• Electrical experience including understanding of wiring diagrams, inverter connections, and electrical safety standards


• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system specifications accurately


• Excellent problem\-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues on\-site


• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively


• Relevant certifications or training in electrical work, mechanical systems, or renewable energy technologies are preferred


• Proven experience working with hand tools, and power tools in a renewable energy setting

Pay: £46,000\.00\-£50,000\.00 per year
