Solar Designer – Bloxt Energy
Job Overview
Bloxt Energy is a family\-run renewable energy company based in Kirkby, Liverpool, specialising in high\-quality solar PV and battery storage installations. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and detail\-oriented Solar Designer to join our expanding solar team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a close\-knit, ambitious company where your work will play a key role in delivering renewable energy solutions for homes and businesses across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Design residential and commercial solar PV systems
- Produce accurate solar layouts, single\-line diagrams, and installation plans
- Use solar design software to create system designs and performance calculations
- Assess site suitability using survey information, drone imagery, and satellite tools
- Ensure all designs comply with current industry standards and UK regulations
- Work closely with sales, surveyors, and installation teams to deliver projects efficiently
- Prepare technical documentation and support DNO applications where required
- Assist installers and project managers with technical queries
- Help optimise system performance, battery storage integration, and customer outcomes
- Previous experience in solar PV design preferred
- Knowledge of solar PV systems and battery storage solutions
- Experience using software such as OpenSolar, AutoCAD, SolarEdge Designer, or similar
- Good understanding of UK electrical and building regulations
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Experience designing commercial solar systems
- Knowledge of G98/G99 applications and DNO processes
- Electrical or engineering background
- Passion for renewable energy and sustainability
