Software Engineering Intern, AI & Machine Learning

Nepternship is connecting qualified students with a potential software engineering internship opportunity at a major tech company in London. A role would offer hands\-on exposure to applied machine learning, model integration, and large\-scale AI infrastructure across active consumer and enterprise products. Interns could work directly alongside engineers, ML engineers, and engineering managers and gain real\-world experience in software engineering that goes well beyond the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in\-depth technical research, model benchmarking, and competitive analysis to support active AI product roadmaps


• Draft technical design docs, RFCs, and engineering memos for review by senior engineers and technical leads


• Assist with model integration, ML pipeline implementation, and performance optimisation across live product surfaces


• Prepare materials for design reviews, sprint planning, and launch readiness milestones


• Collaborate with product, research, and cross\-functional teams on roadmap planning and release strategy

• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical major


• Strong programming skills (Python, Java, Go, or similar)


• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and machine learning fundamentals


• Experience with version control (Git) and code review workflows


• Analytical mindset

Expected hours: 40\.0 per week
