Social Media Marketing Manager
We’re looking for someone who knows how to make people stop scrolling.
The Bermondsey Bierkeller is a 25,000 sq ft entertainment venue in the heart of London Bridge, combining a huge Bavarian beer hall with bars, live entertainment, private hire and a whole load of games and activities.
We’re looking for a Social Media \& Marketing Manager to take ownership of our social media and content and help us grow the brand online.
This isn't a role where you'll be sitting in an office scheduling posts all day.
We want you in the venue, getting stuck in, filming what’s happening and turning the best bits into content people actually want to watch.
The role
You'll be responsible for our social media and content across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, with responsibility for:
- Creating and filming engaging Reels, TikToks and other short\-form content
- Coming up with creative content ideas and campaigns
- Filming content yourself around the venue
- Editing videos and creating content ready to post
- Taking photos and creating other visual content
- Managing our social media accounts and day\-to\-day posting
- Managing Stories and keeping our channels active
- Building and managing a content calendar
- Responding to comments and messages
- Finding and working with influencers and content creators
- Managing paid social campaigns
- Keeping on top of trends and finding ways to make them work for BBK
- Monitoring competitors and what's working in the market
- Growing our reach, engagement and following
- Tracking performance and reporting on what is and isn't working
- Working with the wider management team on events, offers, campaigns and promotions
Our best content isn't going to happen at 10am on a Tuesday.
It's going to happen when the venue is packed on a Friday night, the oompah band is playing, Oktoberfest is in full swing, a private hire has gone wild or 100 people are battling it out on the activities.
You need to be comfortable working evenings and weekends.
We'd expect you to be in the venue for at least two weekends each month, as well as regularly working Thursday and Friday evenings. You'll also need to be available for key events and busy periods where there's an opportunity to capture great content.
These hours are part of the role and aren't simply an occasional requirement.
Who we're looking for
We're ideally looking for someone with around 1–2 years' experience in social media/content, but we're much more interested in what you can actually create than how long you've been doing it.
You should:
- Be genuinely passionate about social media and content
- Know what makes good TikTok and Instagram content
- Be confident filming and editing your own content
- Have a good eye for what looks and feels good on camera
- Be creative and constantly coming up with ideas
- Understand social media trends and how to use them without making content feel forced
- Be confident approaching customers and getting involved in the action
- Be comfortable working in a loud, busy and sometimes chaotic environment
- Be proactive – we don't want someone who needs to be told what to post
- Understand how to use analytics and performance data to improve content
- Have a good commercial understanding of social media and how it can drive bookings and sales
What is important is that you're comfortable with the BBK environment and understand how to turn a busy, energetic venue into great content.
What we're offering
- £40,000–£45,000 salary, depending on experience
- 28 days' holiday including Bank Holidays
- Pension
- Staff food while working
- Staff discount on food and drinks
- Flexible working where the role allows
- Equipment provided where required
- The opportunity to take real ownership of the social media and marketing for a growing London hospitality and entertainment brand
We want to see what you can do.
Please send us:
1\. Examples of your previous social media/content work
TikToks, Reels, campaigns, accounts you've managed – whatever best shows what you can do.
2\. A short video introducing yourself and telling us why you think you'd be a good fit for BBK.
Don't worry about making it overly formal. We want to see your personality as well as your work.
Pay: £40,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- This is a hands\-on role and you will need to be in the venue regularly on Thursday and Friday evenings and at least two weekends per month. These are normal working hours for the role. Please explain how this fits with your availability and what you enjoy about working around busy events and nightlife.
- Tell us about a piece of social media content you have created that performed particularly well. What did you do, how did you create it and why do you think it worked?
