Job Introduction

The Site Engineer will support the delivery of asset protection and mitigation works associated with sensitive third\-party stakeholders, as well as Instrumentation \& Monitoring (I\&M) installation works along the route. The role will ensure works are safely planned, technically assured, and delivered in compliance with contractual, environmental, and stakeholder requirements.

Main Responsibilities
Planning \& Coordination

  • Support Section and Asset Protection teams in preparing methodologies, sketches, and technical inputs required for mobilisation near third\-party assets.

  • Assist in developing Asset Protection\-specific plans such as Method Statements, Worksite Protection Plans, Asset Impact Assessments, and Monitoring Requirement Briefs.

  • Coordinate site establishment activities with the General Foreman/Works Manager, ensuring protection measures for adjacent assets are correctly implemented.

  • Liaise with stakeholders (e.g., Asset owners, local residents, and third parties) to understand constraints, access arrangements, and sensitivities.
Delivery \& Oversight
  • Provide day\-to\-day site supervision for mitigation works and I\&M installations along the route.

  • decommissioning/installation activities.

  • Ensure relevant Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Permits and Consents, Asset Protection Plans, and Monitoring Requirements are produced, reviewed, and implemented on time.

  • Support subcontractors in meeting asset protection conditions and ensuring safe delivery of work within restricted or sensitive zones.

  • Plan site activities to ensure works adjacent to protected assets are carried out safely, efficiently, and without causing disruption or damage.

  • Ensure Permit to Dig, Temporary Works controls, exclusion zones, and monitoring trigger actions are applied correctly.
Assurance \& Quality
  • Ensure temporary works requirements specific to asset protection (e.g., ATS bases, bonding, clearance surveys, monitoring) are identified early and completed in accordance with procedures.

  • Carry out and record all quality inspections in alignment with ITPs and Asset Protection requirements.

  • Manage non\-conformances from identification to close\-out, including engagement with Asset Protection Engineers and Third\-Party Stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in Civil Engineering or Infrastructure projects; experience in asset protection, stakeholder\-facing works, or working adjacent to sensitive structures is desirable.

  • Understanding of reinforced concrete structures, utilities interfaces, and temporary works.

  • Relevant CSCS card.
