About the Role

JGL is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Site Engineer to join our team in Luton, supporting the successful delivery of a key civil engineering project involving deep excavation, shaft and piling works.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer seeking to develop their career on a challenging infrastructure scheme. You will work closely with the Site Agent and Senior Engineer to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
------------------------

• Carry out setting out and surveying activities for all aspects of the works.


• Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.


• Monitor piling and excavation works, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.


• Maintain accurate site records, quality inspections, and as\-built information.


• Support the management of subcontractors and specialist suppliers.


• Assist in preparing work packs, permits, inspection and test plans, and RAMS.


• Monitor progress against programme and report any issues or delays.


• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.


• Liaise with site management, designers, and client representatives.


• Assist in implementing and monitoring temporary works.

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.


• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundwork projects.


• Experience with excavation, drainage, reinforced concrete, or piling works.


• Strong setting out and surveying skills.


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.


• CSCS Card.


• Full UK Driving Licence.


• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• Deep excavation or shaft construction projects.


• Piling and foundation works.


• Temporary works implementation.


• Experience using Leica or Trimble survey equipment.


• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.


• First Aid at Work.


• NEC contract awareness.
