Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a multi skilled Engineer to join our Engineering department within the Operations division to work shifts at our manufacturing site in Harrogate.
Duties
- Fault finding, repairs and maintenance on high speed, automated machinery.
- Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance on a range of specialist and high\-tech equipment (predominantly Krones).
- Ensuring all engineering procedures are adhered to including Health \& Safety, Quality, hygiene and general housekeeping.
- Observing, recognising and reporting on machinery and component defects or systems of impending failure, escalating problems if necessary to departmental manager.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on major issues, ensuring lessons learned and communicated to the wider team.
- Highlighting opportunities for improvements in the maintenance plan and/or failure of components.
- Working in partnership with the Production Department, ensuring the equipment is operated in the defined manner in accordance with SOPs to produce products to specification.
- Contributing to continuously improving operational efficiency.
- Ensuring a detailed hand over is provided to the incoming Engineering shift at the end of each shift – ensuring all relevant procedures and documentation are completed.
- Ensuring activities of contractors on site are overseen, taking responsibility for all necessary pre\-site visit documentation (such as RAMS) and ensuring work is completed to agreed standard, with activities completed in accordance with site rules.
- Time\-served engineer with a completed engineering apprenticeship, or hold an HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be desirable but not essential.
- Adept in electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding and resolution.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with teams and stakeholders effectively.
- Problem\-solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing site conditions.
