Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and machinery across our facility. The Maintenance Engineer will work to prevent equipment failures, perform routine inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance \& Troubleshooting: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure maximum reliability and performance.
- Inspection \& Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems, identifying and addressing potential issues before they result in failures or downtime.
- Repairs \& Overhaul: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including but not limited to pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and HVAC units.
- Documentation \& Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service logs, repair history, and parts usage, in compliance with company standards.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability and reduce repeat incidents.
- Equipment Optimization: Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to equipment to improve performance, efficiency, and safety.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, risk assessments, and maintenance procedures.
- Collaboration \& Communication: Work closely with cross\-functional teams, including operators, engineers, and production staff, to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions.
- Spare Parts Management: Ensure adequate stock of critical spare parts, manage inventory, and collaborate with procurement teams to source necessary components.
- Training \& Mentoring: Assist in training junior maintenance staff and operators on proper equipment operation and maintenance practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3\+ years of hands\-on experience in maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, machinery, and control systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime in health and safety and product safe manner.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS), MS Office.
- Relevant mechanical engineering or maintenance certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, TPM, ISO, etc.) are a advantage.
- Strong problem\-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in the food and brewery industry.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis).
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance and Installation
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance
- Familiarity with PLCs and SCADA systems advantage, but not essential
- C\&G 18th edition advantage but not essential
- Standard work hours: Morning shift 6:00AM to 2:00 PM, Afternoon shift 2:00PM to 10:00 PM with potential for on\-call shifts or overtime as needed.
