The role requires excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm and decisive within a busy licensed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor customer behaviour and identify potential risks before they escalate through effective communication and conflict management.

  • Manage queues, occupancy levels, and customer flow during busy trading periods to maintain a safe environment.

  • Conduct regular internal and external patrols, identifying and reporting hazards, security concerns, or suspicious activity.

  • Enforce venue policies, licensing conditions, and company procedures in a fair, consistent, and professional manner.

  • Respond promptly and effectively to incidents including disorder, intoxication, medical emergencies, fire alarms, evacuations, and welfare concerns.

  • Liaise professionally with venue management, emergency services, and partner agencies when required.

  • Operate CCTV and security systems in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation.

  • Complete accurate incident reports, handover notes, and security documentation.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining authority, professionalism, and impartiality.

  • Assist in protecting customers, staff, company assets, and the venue from criminal activity and anti social behaviour.
Essential Requirements
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Professional appearance and high standards of personal presentation.

  • Strong conflict management and de escalation skills.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.

  • Excellent observational skills and situational awareness.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.

  • Flexible approach to evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and late night working.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

  • Previous experience within licensed premises, pubs, bars, clubs, or the hospitality sector.

  • Experience operating CCTV systems.

  • Knowledge of the Licensing Act 2003 and the four licensing objectives.

  • Physical Intervention training in line with current SIA requirements.
