Overview
The Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the pizza take way/collections operations during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional customer service, food quality, and team performance. This role supports the Store Manager by leading team members, maintaining operational standards, and creating a positive dining and delivery experience for customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership
- Supervise and support team members, including pizza makers, cashiers, servers, and delivery drivers.
- Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow throughout the shift.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to staff.
- Foster a positive, team\-oriented work environment.
- Lead by example in customer service, professionalism, and food safety practices.
- Open and close the store according to company procedures.
- Ensure all stations are properly staffed and operating efficiently.
- Monitor food preparation to maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
- Ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly.
- Address operational issues and customer concerns in a timely manner.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer complaints professionally and effectively.
- Support front\-of\-house operations during busy periods.
- Promote a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Monitor food handling, storage, and preparation procedures.
- Conduct routine cleanliness and safety inspections throughout the shift.
- Maintain company standards for pizza quality and product consistency.
- Assist with inventory control and stock replenishment.
- Monitor ingredient usage and report shortages to management.
- Handle cash transactions, register reconciliation, and end\-of\-shift reporting.
- Minimize waste and support cost\-control initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Complete shift reports and communicate important updates to management.
- Support achievement of sales, labor, and operational goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous pizza, food service, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast\-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic math, cash handling, and computer skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat and food preparation equipment.
