Window Supply Company manufacture and supply uPVC windows and doors to trade. Established in March 2019, the company has quickly become one of the largest window and door fabricating companies in Scotland. The head office and manufacturing facility are based in Scotland’s central belt in Whitburn, West Lothian with trade counters in Aberdeen, lnverness, Dundee, Livingston, Loanhead, Bellshill, Kilmarnock, Manchester, Lincoln and Sheffield. Due to ambitious and exciting growth plans, the company is expanding and has an exciting opportunity for a SHEQ Manager.
The SHEQ manager is in charge of the safety, health environment, and quality assurance side of the business, He/She supervises and coordinates work systems to ensure that the products or services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are favourable and safe. Responsibility for
Day to Day operations:
Supporting the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer and the Directors in developing strategic plans for Health \& Safety, Quality, and Environmental improvements. The SHEQ Manager will maintain the Management System to ensure continuous ISO 9001 compliance and support audit programs. Responsibilities include conducting accident and incident investigations, ensuring statutory compliance for factory operations and leading SHEQ functions to meet health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Additionally, you will develop strategies to improve SHEQ performance, assist in new business development, and actively participate in internal meetings to promote business activities. Also undertakes task analysis of risk assessments, provides support to staff for sustainable practices, and manages facility services, including maintenance and inspections.
Principal responsibilities include:
Safety, health environment and quality assurance: For Head Office, Factory and all Trade Counters.
Facility Servicing:Lead and organise assistance in the maintenance and servicing of the building fabrications and service provision requirements.
Production: Responsible for delivering and providing advice, support and guidance on all aspects of health safety and quality improvements.
Quality Standards (in line with KPIs)
· Responsible for promoting meetings with the Senior Management Team to review and set improvements KPIs, minimum annually.
· Developing internal audit program and drive audit and inspection schedule for compliance assurance at the Window Supply Company Factory.
· Develops, implements business processes and ensures periodic Quality Control checks are met.
· Working together with the Production Director / Production Manager to develop solutions to quality issues.
Training: Onboarding and ensuring Health \& Safety training to new team members.
HR Support: Work with the HR Team on recruitment and on\-boarding activity, liaise and report incident findings where disciplinary actions are advised as a result of an injury incident investigation.
Performance Management:Successfully lead and develop Management System, acting as a role model promoting a positive culture by creating an interest and enthusiasm for good quality in all activities while working with the Window Supply Company Management Team. Coach and upskill Supervisors to effectively manage Health Safety and Quality performance, thereby fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Promoting disciplinary action, when necessary, in conjunction with HR and Production Director/ Manager.
Team Leadership and Communication: Support the deployment of our quality management system and work closely with the operational teams to identify key Health, Safety, Quality risks and hazards alongside the development of controls and mitigation strategies.
Health \& Safety: Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer / Production Director to ensure H\&S compliance is maintained. Lead by example.
Continuous Improvement: Ensure Compliance with ISO accreditation and BSI requirements \= ISO9001\. Implementing schedule of relevant Factory, production / office inspections \& collate corresponding KPI’s, statistics \& trends working with the senior management team for improvements. Satisfying client expectations regarding business service delivery whilst ensuring Intelligent Quality methodology knowledge.
Key interfaces
All Site personnel, including front line and management staff and contractors, Internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies.
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION – SHEQ Manager
Qualifications
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety \& Health and/or NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management
- NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable, as would be Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards it.
- For environmental, a relevant qualification and membership of IEMA would be of benefit
- At least 2 years’ experience in a SHEQ Management Role with Line Management experience in Manufacturing would be desirable
- Full working knowledge of Microsoft office suite to include day to day experience of excel sheets, excellent report writing skills and document management experience.
- EN ISO Management Systems, their upkeep and implementation (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001:2015\)
- CE Marking Certification
- SSIP Safety Accreditation for Works in the UK
- Safety Management Systems, writing Safe Work Plans (Work Procedures) and Risk Assessments specific to each task in factory/workplace
- Work with Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and HSE (UK) inspectors as required during site visits or accident investigation.
- Manual Handling/Abrasive Wheel Instructor (preferable). Able to demonstrate Results Delivery.
