Our client, a leading global commercial organisation have an opportunity for a ServiceNow Technical Architects (CMDB/ITSM) to be based at their client's offices in London.

This is a hybrid role \- you can work remotely in the UK and attend the London office 2\-3 days per week .

This is a 6\-12\+ month temporary contract to start early October.

Day rate: Competitive Market rate

Role Description:

The client is looking for a ServiceNow ITSM Architect with strong integration experience who will design, implement, and maintain ServiceNow ITSM solutions to meet business needs. Must be able to work in complex larger organisations, collaborate across teams and determine quicker wins as well as longer term roadmap, then drive execution across teams.

Key Responsibilities

ServiceNow ITSM Architect:

  • Common Service Data Model

  • Data model and service management processes spanning functions and tools (ServiceNow specialism though also familiar with tools such as JIRA)

  • Experience in key areas such as: design and service map creation, linking service maps to change and incident processes, external integrations, knowledge management, self\-service and service catalogue experience.

  • Understand Solution for the implementation or Maintenance of ServiceNow platform

  • Work with Architect and customers for the technical requirements, document them, play back and baseline

  • Develop a design aligned with the Architecture (if applicable) and technical requirements

  • Lead a team of ServiceNow developers, web designers, integration SMEs and QA analysts to build and deploy the applications meeting the customer requirementsPerform Sprint activities (if agile) with the customer and the team:

  • Develop User stories from the requirements

  • Estimate effort, work with the product sponsor to prioritise the user stores

  • Do sprint planning

  • Assign sprint activities to the team

  • Advise Best Practices and provide technical solutions and/or workaround for the issues/requirements

  • Track and share the status of sprint/user stories with the Project Manager

  • Identify and manage risks and challenges

  • Ensure the quality deployment of the product as per the design

  • Ensure the security, resilience of the components as per the design
Key Requirements

ServiceNow ITSM Architect:

  • Experience as a Technical Architect in ServiceNow

  • Ability to work in complex larger organisations, collaborate across teams and determine quicker wins as well as longe term roadmap, then drive execution across teams.

  • Experienced in ITIL Process Definition, Integration Solutions, understanding Architecture Solutions

  • Understanding customer business requirements and converting them to functional requirements

  • Responsible for reviewing requirements for accurate estimation

  • Experienced in leading at least a couple of Implementation projects in ITSM area and one complete Implementation life cycle for ServiceNow

  • Expertise ServiceNow deployments, ITSM migrations, consolidations, upgrades, integration with other third\-party tools, Orchestration, operational activities, Project Management expertise

  • Review, and do proactive analysis and resolve application issues as needed

  • Mentor and share technical knowledge/guidance to team

  • Very good ITIL process knowledge and ability to evaluate and bring out the correlations and impacts with respect to customer requirements and ITIL/industry standards

  • Must be certified with ServiceNow Systems Administrator, ServiceNow Implementation Specialist and ITIL V3 foundation

  • Should possess good knowledge in Agile/Scrum methodology

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and design of ServiceNow platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT strategies and standards.

  • Develop comprehensive solution architectures incorporating cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and VMware to optimise system performance and scalability.

  • Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to define system requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure including operating systems, databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), and networking components.

  • Design and implement system solutions leveraging microservices, APIs, RESTful services, and DevOps practices to enhance automation and operational efficiency.

  • Oversee system security protocols including information security measures, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, DNS management, and network security policies.

  • Provide technical leadership on system administration tasks related to operating systems (Windows, Linux), virtualization (ESXi), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and system design principles.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Systems Engineer specialising in ServiceNow platform development and deployment.

  • Extensive knowledge of service\-oriented architecture (SOA) principles coupled with practical experience in cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and VMware environments.

  • Strong background in system design involving operating systems (Windows/Linux), databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), networking protocols (DNS, DHCP), and security frameworks.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python; scripting skills including Bash or Shell Scripting; familiarity with APIs and RESTful services.

  • Hands\-on experience with containerisation (Kubernetes), virtualization (ESXi), DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins), load balancing strategies, firewall configuration, VPN setup, and information security best practices.

  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies along with experience managing large\-scale IT projects within complex enterprise environments.

  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing (AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent) or IT architecture are highly desirable.
