Service Charge Accountant

Reed are currently working with a leading property management business who specialise in residential block management. We have been approached to support them with their aim of hiring a new Service Charge Accountant working out of their Bromley office.

As an experienced Service Charge Accountant you will be working within a dedicated and focused team managing service charge accounts across a residential property portfolio.

As the newly appointed Service Charge Accountant, your duties and responsibilities will include :

• Prepare and manage annual service charge budgets and accounts


• Complete service charge reconciliations and financial reporting


• Review expenditure and ensure costs are accurately allocated to properties


• Process and review supplier invoices and payments


• Liaise with property managers, leaseholders and external stakeholders regarding financial queries


• Assist with year-end accounts, audits and statutory reporting requirements

To be considered for the Service Charge Accountant position, your background, experience and qualifications will include :

• A qualified or part-qualified accountant, preferably ACCA, CIMA or ACA


• Previous experience in service charge accounting or property accounting


• Strong understanding of residential property and leasehold accounting


• Experience preparing service charge budgets and year-end accounts


• Confident working with reconciliations and financial reporting


• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills


• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy


• Clear communicator with the ability to work effectively with property managers and clients

This is an office based role working out of our clients Central Bromley office, paying a salary of £45,000 dependent on experience.
