The role:
We work with a range of clients across the UK and beyond to provide technical and strategic advisory support to water planners and managers, including to water companies, regional water resources planning groups, non\-public water supply organisations and government.
Our work spans sectors and planning areas, covering both water and wastewater, but with a particular focus upon water resource planning and modelling, drought planning, water quality modelling, policy and regulatory reviews and option investigation and development.
As a Senior Water Management / Planning Consultant, you will help deliver high quality technical work and project support across a range of water resources, water and wastewater management projects. You will contribute to planning, tendering, ensuring technical quality and effective collaboration.
Responsibilities will typically include:
· Working with clients to understand their needs, scoping out new work and preparing proposals.
· Undertaking assessments, calculations and preparing technical reports.
· Project management, planning, coordination, and monitoring.
· Technical oversight of others, including quality reviews.
· Coordinating with other disciplines, clients, contractors and stakeholders.

We are seeking candidates who have demonstratable experience of working in the water sector, who are proactive and organised and can combine strong technical expertise with the ability to motivate others. The right applicant will be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, work agilely and problem\-solve.
Physical science, engineering or environmental related qualification, degree or equivalent is required with either chartered with relevant professional body or shows commitment to attaining chartership.
Essential attributes for the role:
· Robust experience working in, or with the water industry and/or regulators.
· Experience in project management demonstrating the ability to manage projects to budget and programme with appropriate quality assurance processes.
· Effective communication skills with clients and colleagues.
· Ability to work independently and within a team.
· Strong time management and organisational skills.
· Experience of report writing and quality assurance.
Desirable attributes for the role:
Policy and regulation; business planning:
· Capabilities in working with (or within) regulatory environment, particularly supporting policy implementation, guidance / approach development and/or economic regulation / business planning experience within the water sector
· Strong awareness and/or experience working within a regulatory utilities sector, ideally for the water sector
· Experience working on water sector business plans, e.g. Outcome Delivery Incentives, performance targets, annual reporting etc.
· Experience managing cross\-disciplinary projects / inputs; stakeholder engagement
Water resources / water supply / wastewater planning:
· Strong technical awareness across WRMP technical components and/or specialism within key areas (e.g. options appraisal, systems modelling etc)
· Regulatory submission experience on WRMPs, DWMPs (wastewater), Price Reviews and Business Plans etc.; strategic plan development (including strategic assets plans)
