We're opening a brand new 3\-bedroom residential home supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), and we're looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker to help lead our friendly team in Hayes Town, Hillingdon (*just a short walk from Hayes and Harlington Elizabeth Line Train Station*).
This is a rare opportunity to take a lead role in setting the tone, culture, and routines of a brand\-new service, mentoring a small, close\-knit team and helping a small group of young people benefit from the consistency and care they deserve.
About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll be a steady, experienced presence in the home — supporting both the young people and the wider staff team. Working with children who have Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), you'll help create the calm, consistent, and understanding environment they need to feel safe enough to grow, while also guiding and supporting your colleagues to do the same.
No two days are the same, but your role will typically involve:
- Providing day\-to\-day emotional and practical support to children and young people with EBD
- Leading by example to help create a warm, home\-like environment where young people feel safe and respected
- Supervising, mentoring, and supporting Support Workers, including shift leadership
- Supporting routines around school, meals, hobbies, and appointments
- Using understanding, patience, and consistency to help young people manage and work through difficult emotions and behaviours
- Building positive, trusting relationships built on patience and consistency
- Working closely with the Registered Manager, wider care team, families, and external professionals
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, and record\-keeping in line with care standards
- Being a calm, reassuring presence during difficult moments, and a source of guidance for the team
- Helping shape the routines and culture of a brand\-new home as part of the founding team

- An experienced support worker ready to take the next step, with a relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce, or working towards it)
- Genuinely caring, patient, and non\-judgemental
- Confident working with children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
- A natural mentor with strong communication and leadership skills
- Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure
- Committed to helping young people feel safe, valued, and understood
- Excited to be part of building a brand new home from the ground up
- Willing to work shifts, including some evenings, weekends, and sleep\-ins
- Salary: £32,000 \- £35,000 per annum
