Senior Structural Engineer

The Opportunity

If you are an experienced Structural Engineer looking to step up into a senior role, or a Senior Structural Engineer looking for a new challenge, we are seeking for someone to join our rapidly growing company.

As a key part of our Structural department, you will be responsible for supporting our multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful delivery of robustly defined technical solutions.

Experience Required

You will need to have:

• experience of municipal infrastructure projects, with a history of working closely with contractors / site teams to develop practical and buildable design solutions.


• demonstrable knowledge and experience in taking structural engineering designs from start to finish.


• experience in Revit as a primary modelling/draughting software, and Tekla Structural Designer (or similar) design software.


• experience in reinforced concrete and structural steelwork detailing.


• client\-facing experience working collaboratively to ensure understanding of design outputs, buildability, and financial/contractual implications.

Key Responsibilities

On project delivery you will:

• develop structural designs from inception to completion.


• develop design technical calculation outputs and reports.


• prepare drawings to clearly communicate the design.


• prepare specifications, and (where called for) assist in contract management.


• attend design and site meetings.


• inspect works during construction.

Within the company you will need to:

• have excellent communication between the department and the wider design teams.


• ensure that company standards are adhered to at all times following the correct processes and procedures.


• help to develop efficient standardised solutions for commonly replicated elements/scenarios.


• assist in the development and mentoring of junior structural engineers.


• have an understanding of CDM 2015\.

Qualification and Skills Required

• B.Eng/B.Sc or HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.


• \+5 Years design consultancy experience.


• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or actively working towards it) with either the IStructE or ICE.


• Experience with the following software packages: Revit, Tekla Structural Design Suite (or similar), and Microsoft Office. Advance Steel desirable.


• High computer literacy.


• Sound communication and organisation skills, as well as an attention to detail.


• Awareness of the latest developments with CDE (common data environment).
