About the Role
As a Senior Strategic Buyer, you will play a key role in professionalizing and centralizing our procurement activities. As our organization grows internationally across multiple entities, your challenge will be to capture synergies by consolidating purchasing requirements and deploying a unified procurement strategy. You will coordinate procurement across borders, actively challenging local purchasing practices whenever group\-level leverage can create greater value.
Working closely with the CFO, you will translate business objectives into a data\-driven procurement strategy. You will manage a broad, diverse portfolio with a clear goal: achieving continuous annual cost reductions. You will take full savings ownership, defining and tracking annual targets that encompass cost avoidance, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction, and realized P\&L savings without compromising quality or delivery reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Governance \& Spend Analytics
- Spend Analytics: Establish and maintain group\-wide spend visibility by supplier, category, and entity to uncover new consolidation and synergy opportunities.
- Governance \& Standardization: Implement common purchasing policies, standardized approval processes, preferred\-supplier lists, and uniform sourcing standards across all international entities.
- Indirect Spend: Take full ownership of the procurement strategy for a broad portfolio of facilities, operational, and technical goods and services (including IT, fleet, HSE, maintenance, and workplace equipment). Analyze the market, select suitable partners, and establish robust fallback scenarios.
- Direct Spend: For production procurement, focus on relationship management and commercial optimization within the existing supplier pool to maximize value creation and supply chain efficiency.
- Lead complex negotiations regarding pricing, framework agreements, and conditions. Crucially, you will make working capital, payment terms, and overall cash impact an explicit negotiation objective alongside price.
- Ensure strict follow\-up on agreements and guarantee that contractual terms and negotiated discounts are accurately reflected in invoicing (contract compliance).
- Centralize group vendor databases, nurture strategic partnerships, and execute vendor rationalization to mitigate supplier risk.
- Monitor performance metrics and optimize import/customs processes to support ongoing international expansion.
- You will drive continuous improvement and measure success through the following core metrics:
- Savings realization (P\&L impact \& cost avoidance)
- Spend under management \& contract coverage
- Supplier concentration \& performance monitoring
- Optimization of payment terms \& working capital
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a strategic procurement role. Experience operating within a complex, multi\-entity international corporate structure is a strong asset.
- Commercial Drive: Strong negotiator with deep commercial insight focused on delivering measurable financial results and TCO reduction.
- Analytical \& Strategic Mindset: Ability to analyze large datasets quickly, separate main priorities from minor issues, and act based on strategic impact.
- Change Management \& Hands\-on Attitude: Capable of challenging the status quo across local entities while remaining comfortable moving between executive strategic discussions and operational execution.
- Language Skills: Mandatory proficiency in French and advanced proficiency in English (C1 level). Knowledge of any additional languages is considered a strong plus.
- Impact \& Strategic Ownership: Full autonomy to pioneer, shape, and direct the entire procurement function from the ground up—co\-defining strategy, setting priorities, and driving group\-wide centralization.
- Innovative Environment: Exposure to cutting\-edge Industry 4\.0 and remote asset monitoring technologies in an international setting, backed by tailored coaching from senior engineers.
- Comprehensive Benefits Package: Competitive base salary paired with an attractive SMART\-target bonus, company car with fuel card, Cafeteria Plan, group \& hospitalization insurance, meal vouchers, net allowances (mobile, internet, daily expense), and extra vacation days (ADV \& seniority leave).
