Your Role in Our Mission

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Ward Sister / Charge Nurse to lead and support our nursing team in delivering outstanding patient care.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Ensure high standards of clinical practice

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff

  • Create and maintain a safe, caring environment for patients and their families
As part of the ward leadership team, you will also:
  • Coordinate daily ward operations

  • Manage resources effectively

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
Role Details
  • Contract: Permanent, 37\.5 hours per week

  • Shifts: Rotating day and night shifts

  • 07:00 – 19:30 or 19:00 – 07:30

  • Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays

  • Salary: Band 6 (£39,959 – £48,117 per annum) plus enhancements

  • Location: Inpatient Unit, West Midlands Hospice, Solihull
What We are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A Registered Nurse qualification with current NMC registration

  • Experience in a senior nursing role, ideally in acute or specialist settings

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Excellent clinical knowledge and commitment to evidence\-based practice

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong communication skills at all levels

  • Evidence of continuous professional development, aligned with the NMC Code

  • A proactive approach to decision\-making and problem\-solving under pressure
