Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Sister/Ward Manager to lead and manage Hamble Ward, a 30 bedded respiratory ward. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall clinical and operational management of the ward, ensuring high standards of patient care, effective team leadership, and efficient resource utilization.
In this role, you will oversee the delivery of care to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions, ensuring that best practices are followed for patient safety, comfort, and well\-being.
This is a key leadership role in which you will be expected to manage, support, and develop nursing staff, while ensuring that Hamble Ward meets all quality and safety standards.
Main duties of the job
You will need good leadership and clinical judgement skills, as well as being an excellent communicator,motivator and team player. We are looking for a leader who is accountable and visible and who will work alongside the medical wards to maintain a culture that supports our trust values.
You will need to expect and maintain high standards of care, quality and patient safety to ensure best outcomes for patients. The post may require you to be involved with complex discharge planning and best interest meetings for patients.
The individual must be able to work effectively and it is essential to have the ability for problem solving while working under pressure. You will be involved in supporting your team with debriefing sessions.
