Senior Retail & Warehouse Assistant

Job Overview

Cave Dog is a busy independent raw dog / cat food retailer, and we are looking for a reliable, practical and experienced person to join our small team in a senior role.

This is a varied, hands\-on position combining retail, warehouse, stock handling and local deliveries. We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable and happy to get stuck into whatever needs doing.

You do not need previous raw feeding or pet shop experience, full product training will be given. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in warehouse, stores, stock control, logistics, retail or similar practical environments.

The Role includes:

• Serving customers and providing friendly, helpful service


• Receiving, checking and putting away deliveries.


• Picking and preparing customer orders.


• Stock rotation, stock checks and reporting discrepancies


• Loading and unloading deliveries


• Moving \& stacking stock safely


• Keeping shop, warehouse and freezer areas clean, tidy and organised.


• Working in cold / freezer areas


• Making local customer deliveries when required.


• Working as part of a small team and helping whever needed.


• Organising stock, assisting with regular stock takes, ensuring accurate product placement.


• Support merchandising efforts by setting up displays and ensuring products are attractively presented


• Exceptional communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members


• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently


• Basic math skills for handling transactions, inventory counts, and data entry


• Effective time management to ensure timely completion of tasks in a busy environment

Essentials

• Full, clean UK driving licence


• Confident driving a company vehicle


• Happy to make local customer deliveries (within a 15 \-mile radius)


• Reliable and punctual


• Physically fit and comfortable with regular lifting


• Good attention to detail


• Able to work at pace and prioritise tasks


• Able to work without constant supervision


• Friendly and confident dealing with customers


• A genuine team player


• Good understanding of workplace safety

This role would suit someone who has previously worked in warehousing, production, stock control, logistics or hands\-on retail and would like a more varied customer focused position within a small independent business.

Previous pet industry experience is welcome \- but not essential\-attitude, reliability and practical experience are more important.

Pay: £12\.71\-£13\.00 per hour

Expected hours: 23\.0 – 25\.0 per week
