Senior Quantity Surveyor – South West
Octavius is a leading civil engineering organisation dedicated to delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team for the Wales \& Western Stations and Buildings Work Contract for Control Period 7 (CP7\), covering 2024 to 2029\.
These roles involve the commercial management of a portfolio of projects with an estimated annual value of £10 million. This framework includes maintenance and renewals of canopies, buildings, depots, platform structures, car parks, and subways.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the robust commercial management of a variety of projects. This includes overseeing financial performance, managing costs, conducting procurement processes, and maintaining accurate financial logs and reports.
- You will work closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and achieving business plan commitments.
- You will lead the commercial management of both projects and manage a small team, ensuring their development and performance.

About you:
As a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor, you excel in building relationships, communicating effectively at all levels within and outside the team. Your analytical mindset drives data\-led decision\-making, ensuring strategic project management. With excellent organisational skills, you navigate conflicting priorities adeptly. Your creative problem\-solving approach thrives in adverse situations. Resilient and flexible, you respond to changing priorities with determination.
You'll bring:
- Practical experience in a quantity surveying role in a civil engineering environment, working for a main contractor.
- NEC Contracts experience is essential.
- Experience working on rail renewal, enhancement or AFA schemes is an advantage.
- Experiencing working on multiple and large projects simultaneously, be able to work independently and manage a small team.
