Senior Quantity Surveyor
Are you a highly capable commercial professional looking to make an immediate impact on a fast-paced project that is picking up speed quickly? We are partnering with a leading international infrastructure group who are leading the transformation of our industry to meet the challenges of the future to recruit a driven Senior Quantity Surveyor. With a multitude of new packages kicking off soon, our client needs a strong candidate who can step in, assist the wider team, and oversee packages independently without needing too much hands-on help. This role is perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between the junior and senior teams on site.
Role Highlights:
- Location: Grays, RM16
- Hours:8.5-hour workday, Mon to Fri
- Rate: £550 per day (umbrella rate)
- Contract: Immediate start running until 31/12/2026, with the potential for extension.
- Support project development and delivery by providing contractual and commercial advice to the project team in conjunction with the Commercial Manager.
- Ensure all contract requirements related to the project are complied with in full.
- Produce financial reporting related to schemes to the required standard and timetable.
- Manage subcontract procurement and administration, ensuring timely instructions are issued with appropriate governance and the supply chain is paid in accordance with contractual arrangements.
- Effectively manage supply chain variations, risk, and cashflow forecasting.
- Produce early warnings and compensation events in accordance with contract requirements.
- Ensure effective control of costs across all activities and deliver weekly reporting.
- Liaise effectively within the team, with other teams, and with the supply chain.
- Essential experience in civil engineering construction, while specific experience in the highways sector is highly desirable.
- Must be computer literate and comfortable using the Seymour management system.
- Must hold a full driving licence.
