Senior Quantity Surveyor (13464)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Building team, supporting projects across the East Midlands. This is a key commercial role with responsibility for ensuring the successful financial delivery of projects, from procurement through to final account.
You will take ownership of the commercial management of either a major project or multiple smaller schemes, with the autonomy to influence financial performance, manage risk, and support strategic decision\-making. Working closely with operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners, you will play a critical role in driving value and ensuring commercial success.
As our Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
- Take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, including cost control, forecasting, reporting, and final account agreement
- Lead on subcontract procurement, negotiation, and contract administration to ensure best value and effective risk management
- Prepare and manage applications for payment, variations, and claims, ensuring timely cash flow and commercial protection
- Work closely with project teams and clients to identify risks and opportunities, driving value engineering and commercial performance
- Lead, mentor, and support junior commercial staff, contributing to the development of a high\-performing team
You will be a commercially astute and detail\-oriented professional with strong experience in quantity surveying within a main contractor environment.
You will bring:
- Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects, including final accounts
- Strong knowledge of measurement, valuation, and standard forms of contract
- Experience in subcontract procurement, negotiation, and contract administration
- The ability to produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and financial analysis
- A strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications
- Experience in risk management, value engineering, and dispute avoidance/resolution
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members
