The Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) is responsible for delivering the Southern Region's ambitious renewals programme across CP7 and CP8\. Bringing together a wealth of expertise, SRE will develop, mobilise and deliver a transformative £9 billion programme between 2024 and 2034 .
At the heart of SRE is the Southern Integrated Delivery (SID) \- a fully integrated commercial partnership between AtkinsRéalis, Network Rail, Octavius, VolkerFitzpatrick and VolkerRail . About the role
------------------
We're looking for a collaborative and proactive individual to join our finance team as an integral member from a quality management perspective.
In this role, you will help ensure that our governance and assurance practices support continuous improvement and strong business performance. You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including leadership teams, to identify, plan, and deliver governance and assurance needs that drive success.

Key Accountabilities

- Manage the implementation of the Network Rail governance framework and management system throughout the business unit, maintain continued adherence through active engagement and provide feedback to continually improve it
- Implement a communication methodology so that governance briefings are carried out in accordance with procedures and standards
- Deliver the business group audit plan, including integration and support of the Network Rail business audit interventions, corporate Safety Functional Audit and corporate Internal Audit activity to maintain the three lines of defence required to protect business reputation and customer confidence
- Exercise functional quality responsibility for the Region, Service or Network teams monitoring the quality of the work performed by staff, consultants and contractors employed on the projects by systematic audit
- Manage quality performance indicators and provide appropriate reports on business quality performance
- Manage relationships with the group governance and assurance forums influencing decision making across Network Rail to meet the strategic objectives of the business are met
- Manage and maintain the development of the desired quality culture throughout the business unit to meet legal compliance and adoption of functional best practise through good governance, providing stakeholder confidence through effective assurance to achieve efficiencies internally and through the supply chain
- Develop and implement plans to address significant non\-compliance with standards, legislation, safety case or notices served by statutory authorities

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential
¿ Proven track record of operating in a complex business environment across multi\-disciplinary areas.
¿ Member of the Chartered Quality Institute, Certified IRCA Lead Auditor or relevant professional body recognition
¿ A comprehensive knowledge of Quality management tools and techniques.
¿ Demonstrates strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs.
¿ Proven experience of working in partnership with senior business leaders in order to improve quality management.
¿ Ability to establish professional credibility quickly.
¿ Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation.
¿ Excellent report writing and presentation skills
Desirable
- Chartered Quality Professional
- An appreciation of the structure of the railway industry and its basic operations.
- Strong understanding of CDM duties and how governance is applied across Principal Designer and Principal Contractor roles within complex, multi\-disciplinary environments
- Identify and deliver meaningful, practical improvement projects to how we manage and deliver quality on the ground
- Liaising and influencing supply chain partners to align with organisational quality and assurance
- Chairing and driving quality and continuous improvement forums
Drugs and Alcohol Standard:
Our Drugs and Alcohol Standard has changed. All prospective candidates who have not been offered a conditional role will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on Sentinel database and a 5 year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
