About the role
------------------
Are you an experienced HR professional ready to take on a pivotal role within a fast\-paced, unionised environment? Join the South Eastern Railway HR Team and play a key role in supporting managers through employee relations (ER) matters while driving capability and consistency across the business.
We have two 12\-month Fixed Term Contract opportunities for the position of Human Resources Business Partner \[Employee Relations]. There is the potential for the contracts to be extended in the future.
As a trusted advisor, you'll provide expert guidance to line managers, helping them navigate ER cases in line with Network Rail policies and employment legislation. You'll also play a key part in developing managers through targeted coaching, workshops, and skills development initiatives.
Working closely with HR Direct Services and local HR Business Partners, you'll ensure a collaborative, consistent, and high quality HR service across your region.
Your experience and skills

Some of your Key Responsibilities will be to:
- Deliver expert HR advice and coaching to managers on ER cases across a defined geographical area
- Provide clear guidance on HR processes, roles, and responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with HR Business Partners and HR Direct to drive effective case management
- Design and deliver targeted upskilling initiatives to enhance line manager capability
- Maintain accurate and timely case records across HR systems
- Support managers in developing pragmatic, business focused solutions aligned with policy and legislation
- Share best practice and ensure consistency of HR advice across the function
- Stay up to date with employment law and organisational developments
- Provide additional support to the Senior HRBP and wider HR team as needed
- Proven experience in an HR Advisory role, handling ER cases.
- Strong experience in coaching and developing managers through training or workshops
- Up to date knowledge of employment law and its practical application
- Confident influencing and engaging with line managers and senior stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure
- Strong analytical and problem solving capability
- Experience working in a unionised environment
- CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to travel across the Kent Route to support multiple locations
- Experience advising within Network Rail policies and frameworks
- Exposure to supporting multiple Network Rail functions
