Role Purpose
================

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the end\-to\-end execution of Steelway's installation projects, leading a Regional Service Manager, Project Manager and Project Coordinator to deliver work safely, on programme, and to the specified quality. This role owns the customer experience from project handover through to completion and sign\-off, and carries full accountability for margin delivery against budget for the department.

The role reports directly to theOperations Director. Acting as the direct point of contact for projectexecution, the Senior Project Manager works closely with the Regional ServiceManager to ensure resourcing, scheduling, and site delivery are aligned withwider departmental capacity and commercial targets. A core part of the role isimplementing the systems, processes, and standards that allow the department todeliver an exceptional and consistent level of customer satisfaction.

KeyResponsibilities
=======================

Project Execution
---------------------

  • Own delivery of a portfolio of installation projectsfor Tier 1 Customers from handover to completion, ensuring works are executedsafely, on programme, and to specification.

  • Direct and support the Project Manager and ProjectCoordinator in day\-to\-day planning, scheduling, and site coordination.

  • Proactively identify and resolve programme risks,resourcing conflicts, and site issues before they impact delivery.

  • Work closely with the RSM to ensure direct andsubcontract site teams are briefed, resourced, and performing to Steelway'squality and safety standards.

  • Co\-ordinate availability of Steelwork from Productionto suit installation and pre\-build schedule.

Customer Experience
-----------------------

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers onproject execution matters, building trust through clear, proactivecommunication.

  • Act as the escalation point for issues coming throughthe Project Manager and Project Coordinator.

  • Set and maintain a consistent standard of customerservice across all live projects, from progress updates to issue resolution.

  • Manage customer expectations around programme,variations, and any on\-site issues, escalating and resolving concerns quickly.

  • Gather and act on customer feedback to continuouslyimprove the installation experience.

Margin Delivery
-------------------

  • Take full ownership of project margin, tracking costagainst budget throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Identify and control the drivers of margin erosion(labour, subcontractor spend, remedial works, programme slippage) and takecorrective action.

  • Work with the Project Coordinator to ensure accuratecost tracking, valuations, and variation capture.

  • Report project financial performance monthly to the Business.

Systems, Process \& ContinuousImprovement
---------------------------------------------

  • Design and implement systems and processes thatstandardise project execution and raise the consistency of customersatisfaction across the department.

  • Drive adoption of the department's field servicemanagement (FSM) tooling and reporting processes among the Project Manager andCoordinator.

  • Build repeatable processes and documentation forproject handover, site delivery, snagging, and close\-out.

  • Identify recurring issues across projects and leadprocess improvements to prevent recurrence.

Leadership \& Liaison
-------------------------

  • Manage, coach, and develop the Project Manager andProject Coordinator, setting clear objectives and standards of performanceundertaking regular reviews.

  • Liaise closely with the Regional Service Manager, whoholds a dotted\-line relationship into this role, on resourcing, capacityplanning, and escalations.

  • Act as the escalation point for project executionissues raised internally or by customers.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, andcapability\-building within the installation execution team as the departmentgrows.

PersonSpecification
=======================

Essential
-------------

  • Proven track record of managing multiple concurrentinstallation, construction, or engineering projects to time, quality, andbudget.

  • Strong commercial acumen with direct experience owningproject margin and cost control.

  • Demonstrable focus on customer experience, with theability to manage relationships and expectations under pressure.

  • Experience leading or managing a small team, ideallyincluding a project manager and/or coordinator.

  • Confident implementing or improving processes andsystems within a project delivery environment.

  • Strong communicator, comfortable acting as the primarypoint of contact for both customers and senior stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel to sites as required.

  • CSCS Black Card Holder

  • Appointed Person in Lifting Operations

  • IOSH Managing Safely
Desirable
-------------
  • Background in structural steel, fabrication, orconstruction installation.

  • Experience with field service management (FSM) software(e.g. Joblogic, simPRO).

  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. APM,PRINCE2\) or equivalent experience.

  • Health \& safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, SMSTS).
