About the position

The Senior Product \& Portfolio Manager is accountable for leading defined parts of the European product and innovation agenda, shaping portfolio strategy, managing priority pipelines, and delivering high‑impact innovation and renovation.

Reporting to the Head of Product \& Portfolio Europe, the role acts as a portfolio architect and delivery leader, translating strategic growth priorities into robust roadmaps, validated concepts, and commercially successful launches. Operating within a matrixed European and global organisation, the Senior Product \& Portfolio Manager partners closely with local Marketing teams, R\&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, EU Route to Market, and Regulatory teams to ensure innovations are consumer‑led, scalable, and operationally viable.

This role combines strategic portfolio thinking with hands‑on execution, and plays a critical role in strengthening innovation capability and decision quality to drive growth across Europe.

Impact \& Responsibilities

You own defined segments of the European product and portfolio roadmap, ensuring alignment with company strategy, growth priorities, consumer needs, and sustainability commitments. You shape and prioritise the innovation and renovation pipeline within category, balancing growth potential, risk, and resource allocation, while supporting local teams to deliver in line with strategy. You lead cross\-functional teams end\-to\-end, from concept and business case through to launch and post\-launch optimisation, and you track performance to continuously improve future portfolio decisions. You act as a key partner to Marketing leadership, ensuring strong integration between brand and innovation agendas.

Innovation \& Portfolio Management

You identify consumer, category, and whitespace opportunities using insights, trends, and competitive analysis, translating them into actionable product and portfolio plans. You build strong business cases and governance materials to enable high\-quality and efficient decision\-making. You champion consumer\-centric ways of working, including testing, prototyping, and iterative learning, while ensuring innovation delivers measurable growth and margin impact. You maintain visibility on portfolio health, proactively managing risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, and support longer\-term portfolio scenarios and investment planning.

Stakeholder Management \& Communication

You influence and align stakeholders across Marketing, R\&D, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Regulatory, often without direct authority. You clearly present portfolio trade\-offs, recommendations, and performance updates to senior leadership, bringing a strong consumer\-led perspective and contributing to strategic discussions.

What Does It Take to Be Successful?

We are looking for an experienced professional with 8–12\+ years' experience in FMCG innovation, portfolio management, brand marketing or related commercial roles, with a strong track record of translating consumer insights and strategic direction into scalable, high\-impact product pipelines. You bring strong commercial acumen, with proven ability to build business cases, prioritise investments and link innovation to tangible growth outcomes, and have operated successfully within complex, matrixed European or global environments. You combine deep expertise in innovation strategy, portfolio and lifecycle management with a strong understanding of stage\-gate and agile methodologies, consumer insight frameworks, and cross\-functional dynamics across R\&D, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales and Regulatory. Strategically minded yet hands\-on, you are a proactive self\-starter who takes ownership, drives decisions under uncertainty, and builds alignment across diverse stakeholders, while contributing to the development of innovation and portfolio capabilities within teams. A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related field is required, with an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification considered a plus.
