Medicines Management and Pharmacy Services (MMPS) offers our team members fantastic career development opportunities, which has led to the progression of previous post holders. We now have excellent opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated Senior Pharmacy Services Assistants who already hold an NVQ/QCF Level 2 Pharmacy Service Skills Certificate and who have experience in either a hospital or community pharmacy setting, to join our forward thinking and generally all round fantastic pharmacy team based at ward level. These are excellent opportunities to start a career in hospital pharmacy and to play an important role in being part of a team working to deliver an exceptional medicine supply service. By taking a patient first approach and through compassion and commitment you will focus on helping patients to optimise medicines use by involving them in making decisions about their medicines.
You will collaborate with other teams, communicating effectively to ensure a safe, seamless integrated transfer of care for our patients, providing an integrated delivery of medicines to ensure cost effective, safe and safe and appropriate use of medicines.

What you will bring to the role

This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a busy and supportive ward\-based pharmacy team, making a direct contribution to patient care across a range of specialties. Key aspects of the role include:
- Working in a patient\-facing environment and supporting patients with their medicines
- Ordering, receiving and managing medicines to ensure wards have the medicines they need.
- Stock management and replenishment of medicines at ward level.
- Labelling, dispensing and preparing medicines following training and competency assessment.
- Communicating with patients, ward staff, healthcare professionals and service users.
- Supporting safe and effective medicines use across the Trust.
- Providing supervision, support and training to a variety of different staff
- Developing new skills through structured training, including patient counselling opportunities.
- Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high\-quality patient care.
- Contributing to a safe, efficient and compassionate pharmacy service that makes a real difference to patients every day.
