Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed mechanical designs for a variety of water and chemical dosing engineering projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise advanced CAD software and contribute to innovative design solutions within a collaborative environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and extensive experience in mechanical design processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive mechanical designs using industry\-standard CAD software, including AutoCAD and Plant3D.
- Create detailed schematics, P\&ID's, technical GA drawings, and 3D models aligned with project specifications and client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure designs meet all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Utilise NavisWorks for clash detection and coordination across multidisciplinary models.
- Apply and utilise 3D modelling for engineering interface designs where applicable.
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from engineers, clients, and construction teams to optimise functionality and manufacturability.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and reports for project submissions.
- Support construction teams during project execution by providing clear guidance on design intent and resolving technical issues as they arise.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer or similar role within the construction or engineering sector.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD and Plant 3D.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems design principles and construction processes.
- Experience working with Schematics and technical drawings for complex mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations relevant to mechanical design in construction projects.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
