About the role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Heating Engineer to join our growing engineering team. Reporting to the Services and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, fault finding, and repair of commercial heating systems and associated gas appliances across a diverse client portfolio.

This is a hands\-on role requiring strong technical expertise, excellent problem\-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and emergency call\-outs, perform safety inspections, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with current industry regulations and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Install new heating systems and gas appliances in accordance with national standards and regulations.

  • Carry out regular maintenance checks on systems and appliances to ensure they are operating effectively and safely. This may include tasks such as cleaning, adjusting, and troubleshooting systems.

  • Respond to breakdowns, identify faults, and carry out necessary repairs or replacement of parts. In some cases, an entire system may need to be replaced.

  • Perform safety inspections and checks on systems and appliances to ensure they comply with safety standards.

  • Provision of appropriate certification to confirm that relevant safety checks have been carried out.

  • Provide excellent customer service, explaining technical information to customers in a way that they can understand, providing advice on energy efficiency, and responding to customer queries and complaints.

  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including details of any repairs, replacements, and safety checks.

  • Stay up to date with the latest regulations relating to gas and heating systems and ensure all work is following these regulations.

  • Be available to respond to emergency situations involving gas and heating systems, such as gas/oil leaks.

  • Stay updated with the latest technology, tools, and techniques in the heating and gas industry. Attend relevant trainings and workshops for skill enhancement.

  • Manage tools and equipment required for carrying out the job efficiently. This includes proper handling, regular cleaning, and maintenance
Essential Requirements:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in a similar role and will have:

  • Over 5 years experience as a Commercial Heating – Service and Installer

  • Current Commercial Gas Safe qualifications

  • Additional LPG, catering, oil qualifications \- desirable

  • Demonstrate IT Tablet Job/ time sheets emails

  • Full driving licence with no more than 6 points

  • Preferably North West UK based as HQ is based in Widnes, Cheshire.

  • Be prepared to travel to our UK based clients, with occasional nightly stay overs
Additional Information: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week (evening \& weekend callouts may be required but will be covered by a rota system). Company clothing and an iPad is provided and access to a company vehicle as required.
