Senior Maintenance Engineer (Nights)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Maintenance Engineer to work in our facility in Severn Beach on a night shift.
Responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and safety of equipment and systems within a busy food production environment, supporting reliable manufacturing processes and minimising downtime across production and operational areas.
The role supports daily operations and operational objectives by applying engineering expertise, providing engineering advice and operational support, and undertaking fault diagnosis, technical assessments and maintenance reporting. It ensures equipment reliability while complying with industry standards and company targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance on production and operational equipment to sustain reliability.
- Perform reactive maintenance and engineering repairs to minimise downtime across lines.
- Diagnose and fault\-find complex machinery using manuals, wiring diagrams and test equipment to restore function.
- Maintain equipment performance through engineering adjustments and repairs to support operational reliability.
- Collaborate with production and QA teams on equipment set\-ups, changeovers and operational support activities.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment under defined procedures to bring assets safely into service.
- Liaise with contractors, coordinating visits and repairs to secure timely support.
- Provide engineering advice and maintenance reporting within guidelines to support operational activities.
- Apply health and safety standards and stop unsafe operations to protect people and product.
- Support continuous improvement activities and assist NPD and procurement\-led engineering changes where required.
- Support general site maintenance and facilities\-related activities at Newbury where required to maintain operational continuity.
- · Level 5 qualification required or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience of delivering planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production and utilities equipment to sustain reliability and minimise downtime.
- Significant experience of diagnosing and fault‑finding complex electromechanical machinery using wiring diagrams, manuals and test equipment.
- Significant experience of supporting installation and commissioning activities and coordinating work with OEMs and external contractors.
- Demonstrable experience of preparing technical reports and providing engineering advice within defined guidelines.
- Detailed understanding of diagnosing and fault‑finding complex electromechanical machinery using wiring diagrams and test equipment.
- Understanding of electrical control systems and production equipment used within manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of planned preventative maintenance, reliability techniques and applicable health, safety and food industry standards.
- Highly developed skill in systematic fault diagnosis of electromechanical systems using test instruments and schematics.
- Developed skill in interpreting engineering schematics, manuals and equipment controls to support fault diagnosis and equipment reliability.
- Developed skill in prioritising maintenance tasks and preparing concise technical handovers.

The hours for this role are 40 hours per week Sunday \- Thursday 9\.30pm\-6\.00am at Severn Beach with a salary of £58,922\.
