PURPOSE

To provide a professional and comprehensive HR service to the business through the provision of guidance and advice on all operational Human Resources matters.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This does not set out every responsibility but provides an overview of the main areas of responsibility:

  • Contribute to fulfilment of the HR Business Plan

  • Work closely with managers to support the delivery of business goals and objectives

  • Provide timely, accurate and pragmatic HR support and advice on a wide range of people matters including recruitment, employment legislation, performance management and the implementation and application of policies

  • Coach and support line managers through challenging people situations, building their capability and confidence in handling ER matters appropriately

  • Design and deliver training and development sessions to enhance line management capability

  • Manage complex employee relations matters, engaging with management promptly to address issues in a timely manner

  • Contribute to the HR components of change management and restructuring initiatives, which may include consultation with groups and individuals

  • Lead and/or contribute to HR projects

  • Act as mentor to junior HR colleagues, sharing ER knowledge and best practice

  • Support the wider HR team where required

  • Model PSG Values in personal work behaviours, decision making, contributions and interpersonal interactions

  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the HR Manager

  • Maintain expertise by continually developing and building knowledge and skills, staying up to date on employment legislation and regulations

  • Travel to other offices as required
Personal Qualities
  • CIPD qualified

  • Experience of working in a customer focussed, dynamic, commercially driven, high volume processing environment, preferably Financial Services

  • Commercial awareness

  • Experience of managing complex and sensitive ER cases independently

  • Demonstrable experience of working on the full range of HR issues, including recruitment, with particular focus on performance management

  • Good working knowledge of employment law

  • Excellent influencing, coaching and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in all forms at all levels within an organisation

  • Pragmatic, solutions focused approach and sound professional judgement

  • Can work independently as well as part of a team

  • Ability to multi\-task, prioritise effectively and make good decisions with minimal oversight while knowing when to escalate

  • Proven ability to lead, manage and develop a team

  • A high level of initiative and resiliance

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for decision making

  • Experienced user of Microsoft office and HR systems (ideally Workday)

  • Remains positive despite difficulty, disappointment and when under pressure

  • Is aware of personal development needs and raises issues with manager to help improve effectiveness. Takes on board comments about development needs and is always willing to learn
