About the role
Rexville Solutions Limited is seeking a hands\-on Senior HR Advisor with 3–5 years of relevant HR experience to support our Rugby warehouse and distribution site. Previous experience managing HR matters in a warehouse environment is strongly preferred.
You will work closely with site management and team leaders, with a particular focus on HR compliance, grievance handling, on\-site people management and practical recommendations for management decisions. You will use sound business judgement to assess people issues, understand their operational impact and recommend fair, compliant and commercially informed action.
Key responsibilities
- HR compliance: Review site HR practices, employee records, contracts, right\-to\-work documentation and agency worker processes. Identify gaps, recommend corrective action and help managers apply policies consistently in line with UK employment requirements.
- Grievances and employee relations: Take ownership of grievance and disciplinary case coordination, including fact\-finding, evidence gathering, investigation support, meeting preparation, accurate records and follow\-up. Advise managers on fair processes, assess risks and escalate complex matters appropriately.
- On\-site people management: Maintain a visible presence at the RB site and work with warehouse managers and team leaders on attendance, absence, conduct, probation, performance and workplace conflict. Address issues promptly and coach managers to handle conversations confidently and consistently.
- Decision recommendations: Present management with clear options, supporting evidence, people risks and operational implications. Recommend proportionate next steps and document the rationale for advice and agreed actions.
- Business judgement: Understand warehouse staffing needs, productivity pressures, labour costs and service requirements. Balance operational priorities with employee fairness and compliance, challenge unsuitable proposals constructively and recognise when specialist advice is needed.
- Workforce insight: Analyse absence, turnover, agency usage and recurring employee relations issues to identify root causes and recommend practical improvements to workforce stability and site performance.
- Manager support: Build effective relationships with site leaders and employees, explain HR requirements clearly and help managers improve their day\-to\-day people management capability.
- Operational HR delivery: Support recruitment, onboarding, probation reviews and employee lifecycle changes; maintain confidential HR records and coordinate accurate attendance and payroll inputs with relevant teams.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in HR advisory, HR generalist or operational HR roles.
- Practical experience handling grievances, disciplinary matters and other employee relations cases, with the ability to manage sensitive issues objectively and confidentially.
- A strong working knowledge of UK employment law, HR compliance and fair workplace procedures, with the ability to translate these into practical advice.
- Experience supporting line managers on attendance, conduct, performance and day\-to\-day workforce issues.
- Sound business judgement: able to evaluate evidence, identify risks, understand operational priorities and provide clear, reasoned recommendations to management.
- Confidence to work independently, prioritise competing demands and constructively challenge decisions when necessary.
- Clear communication, strong attention to detail and confidence using HR systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to work on site at our Rugby (RB) location and reliably commute or relocate before starting.
- Previous warehouse HR management experience is strongly preferred, particularly responsibility for site\-level compliance, employee relations and workforce matters.
- Experience supporting shift\-based operations, agency workers and a diverse workforce in warehousing, logistics or distribution.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification, working towards it, or equivalent practical HR experience.
- Ability to speak Chinese is preferred.
- Salary of £38,000–£42,000 per year, depending on experience.
- A hands\-on senior HR role with ownership of site\-level people matters.
- The opportunity to influence management decisions and improve HR compliance and people management at our Rugby site.
