ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Senior Food Sourcing Manager will have overall accountability for all inbound food to City Harvest, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply to support the charity’s mission. The role will directly manage the day\-to\-day operations of our Gold Top Donor accounts, our most valuable partners, whilst driving strategic growth and strengthening key relationships.

This role will lead a small team, including two Account Managers and a New Business Development Manager, who will oversee all other accounts, providing guidance and support to deliver operational excellence and maximum impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inbound Food Accountability \& Gold Top Donor Account Management

  • Ensure a consistent, reliable supply of food donations across the organisation, overseeing other Account Managers to maintain continuity and performance across all remaining accounts.

  • Source the right volumes and types of food at the right time to meet the community demands as well as our operational capacity, minimising risk of overstocking or waste.

  • Take accountability for the Gold Top Donor accounts, managing both day\-to\-day operations and strategic growth, developing and maintaining strong strategic partnerships and sharing the benefits of redistribution to ensure long\-term commitment and donations.
Team Leadership
  • Line\-manage two Account Managers responsible for all other accounts across the supply chain, providing guidance and oversight to maintain a consistent and reliable supply of food.

  • Lead and support the New Business Development Manager, holding them accountable for outreach, onboarding and acquisition of new donors, while ensuring alignment with organisational targets and strategy.

  • Work with the team to enhance donor engagement through timely communication, accurate impact reporting and personalised account management, ensuring donors understand the value and impact of their contributions.
Operational Excellence
  • Work closely with the Operations and Logistics teams to ensure collections are planned efficiently, ensuring the right stock is brought in at a pace the warehouse can manage, balancing supply with operational capacity whilst avoiding potential waste.

  • Monitor donation trends, analyse historical data and identify opportunities to optimise product types and volumes.

  • Own third\-party haulage costs, ensuring collections and planned efficiently whilst staying within budget.

  • Work with the Operations Team in making sure all inbound food data is recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Reporting \& Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent City Harvest at high\-level meetings with industry leaders, promoting our mission and the benefits of redistribution.

  • Act as the voice of donors internally, advocating for their needs and facilitating problem\-solving.

  • Report on account performance, donation trends and team progress to the Operations Director.

DESIRED SKILLS \& EXPERIENCE

5\+ years’ experience in an account management role.

Strong relationship management, time\-management and organisational skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build healthy work relationships.

Ability to cope with high work volumes and perform well under pressure.

Problem\-solving skills and positive, proactive "can\-do" attitude.

Technological proficiency in relevant software – e.g. proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Google products.

Job Type: Full\-time, permanent, Monday to Friday

Hours of Work: 9am – 5pm (with a 30\-minute unpaid lunch break)
